A survivor of the Rwandan genocide will be in Grafton September eighth.
Imaculee Illibagiza will give a presentation about Faith, Hope, and Forgiveness,
according to St. John's Catholic Church Pastor, Father Tim Schroeder.
Schroeder says she'll tell the story of surviving the genocide while hiding
a bathroom, surrounded by killers, and eventually coming to forgive the murderer
of her family. He says if you have problems with forgiveness, this is a story to
listen to and take to heart. Illibagiza took forgiveness to a huge level.
Schroeder says over one-million Rwandans were slaughtered in 91 days.
Illibagiza's story applies to all of us. Schroeder says Illibagiza for awhile
couldn't pray the "Our Father" because she understood the gravity of its words.
He says she eventually forgave to the point that she forgave the killers of her
own parents and brothers.
Schroeder says tickets are 25-dollars now, 35-dollars at the door Saturday
evening, September eighth. The interdenominational presentation will begin at seven-pm
and doors will be open at six.
