Valley and the Devils Lake Basin is melting rapidly throught this weekend.
There will be significant overland flows throughout the Red River Basin.
The National Weather Service mentions scattered rain showers
and even some thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday.
A flood watch is in effect for much of the Red River Basin, the
Devils Lake Basin, and northern Minnesota.
Water will cover rural roads in spots.
River flood warnings are issued for the vast majority of points in
the Valley. The National Weather Service sees crests for the Red River
north of Fargo to occur throughout the month of May. The central and
northern Red will be slower to crest and recede. They'll be subject to
rain or snow the first part of May. The Pembina River will pour water
into the Red River at Pembina for a long time and keep the mainstem
Red above flood stage throughout May.
The steep increase in river levels in this area will continue.
