We know beef prices are high but $1600? For a Wagonmaster from Westside Drive In in Grafton????? Yes. And District 19 State Senator Tom Campbell paid it. Campbell won it with the highest bid at Unity Medical Foundation's fundraiser and auction last fall. Campbell tells KXPO it was kind of a fun thing. He paid more money than he though he would but it's a great
hospital, a great benefit to have in Grafton. Campbell says he probably would've
given to Unity Medical Center in another way but it's fun, a promotion. Campbell
asks "what would we do without the hospital in Grafton? It's a tremendous asset.
Campbell appreciates what Unity Medical Center has done for his family
and relatives. He says you're never a number there. They know you. You get a
lot of attention. Campbell says Grafton has a lot of things that get taken for
granted that the community needs. It's great to see that in a small town.
Campbell thought he'd plunk down 300 or 400-dollars for that Wagonmaster.
What he's getting is about 300 or 400-dollars per bite.
Campbell says he's happy to pay 16-hundred-dollars for it. It's about what
you can give back to something and someone who gives to you.
