No injuries but some tense moments in Crystal over the weekend. The North Dakota Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic stop and in ended up in a high speed chase with speeds over 100 miles per hour.
Pembina County Chief Deputy Jeff Osvold tells KXPO/KNDK/MAV105 that during the stop, the driver sped off. The man had a passenger with him.
When the dust cleared, the driver of the vehicle ran and ended up being tased. His passenger ran too and was later arrested in Crystal.
Osvold says authorities determined that the two men are illegal immigrants. They're both in Pembina County Jail in Cavalier on local charges and after that, immigration violations too.
Osvold says Pembina County deputy acted as a backup during the H-P traffic stop. The US Border Patrol assisted as well.
