The National Weather Service says that threat of rain could influence
runoff and flooding of rivers and streams north of Grand Forks. There is
significant overland flooding. South of Oslo, flooding will be in closer to
the mainstem Red River. There will be more overland flooding in the Devils
Lake Basin, the far northern Red River Valley, and northern Minnesota through
Authorities say please respect road closed signs and don't drive around them on
a flooded road. If you see a flooded road that's not marked, report it to the
Walsh County Sheriff's Department.
There's a flood warning for the Park River at Grafton. It's expected to
go over flood stage Monday morning and keep going to inbetween 13-point-five
feet and 15-point-five-feet by Wednesday. There's an ice jam upstream of
Grafton and that could fluctuate the river levels. Potential rain this week could
influence the river levels too.
The Forest River at Minto will rise over flood stage late Monday morning.
It'll rise to eight-point-five-feet Wednesday morning. The Forest River at Minto is
expected to crest at eight-point-five-feet Wednesday and fall below flood stage
Moderate flooding on Two Rivers at Hallock. It'll continue for the next
week. It'll rise to a crest of almost 807-point-five-feet above sea level Wednesday.
For the Pembina River at Walhalla, it'll rise above flood stage Monday
afternoon and rise to eleven-point-five-to-13-point-five-feet by Wednesday. Runoff
from Manitoba's moving through. Same at Neche. The Pembina River will rise
above flood stage Monday afternoon and continue to 21-point-three-feet by
Thursday or Friday.
For the Red River: at Oslo, major flooding is forecast. The Red will
rise to 37-point-five-feet next Saturday afternoon with additional rises possible
At Drayton, minor flooding on the Red now, moderate flooding is
forecast. It'll rise to 42 feet next Sunday morning. At Pembina, the Red
River will rise to 49-feet next Sunday morning. That's major flood stage.
There is no crest information for the Red at Oslo, Drayton, and Pembina.
