The town of Hoople will be celebrating its 125th anniversary this weekend. Events will run from 8:00 A.M. Friday morning through Sunday afternoon. Anniversary steering committee member Ron Buckwitz says they wanted to pull out all the stops for the milestone. Events for the 125th include a Rib Fest on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and a parade from 11:00 a.m to noon on Saturday. The full schedule also includes a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, a two mile run and an open night for class reunions. Local musicians Alek and Zak Kringstad will provide the music for the street dance on Friday night from 9:00 p.m to 1:00 a.m. The Johnny Holm Band plays on Saturday night. Tickets for Johnny Holm are $15.00 before the 19th and $20.00 at the door. Buckwitz says weekend brochures with a schedule of events, parade route and event locations will be available at the information booth set up on Main Street this weekend. Registration forms for the 3 on 3 and sand volleyball tournaments are available on the Hoople 125th Facebook page.
