Authorities have evacuated the south side of Karlstad, Minnesota due to
The fire's threatening the south side of town.
Keith Lindgren lives east of Karlstad and operates a business there.
Lindgren told KXPO he could see smoke from that large brushfire
overhead of his place.
Lindgren is five-miles east of Karlstad, in southeastern Kittson County.
Lindgren says if the fire jumps Highway 59, he'll be worried because most of the
activity was west of 59. That's where the threat is and that's where the action is.
Lindgren says he could see all kinds of smoke from his vantage point.
He says the wind must die down to alleviate the fire threat.
Lindgren also says a large fire near Karlstad Sunday turned out to be a
backhanded blessing because a lot of dry vegetation was already burned when this
fire spread Tuesday.
